1. About these terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Sage app and cook-sage.app, including recipe importing, organization, meal planning, and cooking guidance. Sage is operated by Andrew Wilkerson (“Sage,” “we,” or “us”).

By accessing or using Sage, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

2. Eligibility and your account

Sage is intended for adults aged 18 and older in the United States. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into this agreement to use the service.

Sign-in is currently available through Google or Apple. Provide accurate account information, protect your sign-in credentials, and notify us of suspected unauthorized access at cooksagesupport@gmail.com. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account.

3. Using Sage

You may use Sage for lawful recipe organization, meal planning, and cooking assistance. Subject to these terms, we give you permission to access and use the service for your personal use.

You must not:

• Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or information.
• Interfere with the service, circumvent access restrictions, or upload malicious code.
• Use the service to infringe intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights.
• Submit unlawful content or impersonate another person.
• Abuse automated access in a way that disrupts the service or violates applicable restrictions.

Your use remains subject to applicable law. Nothing in these terms restricts lawful reviews or criticism of Sage.

4. Your recipes and uploaded content

You retain whatever rights you hold in recipes, photos, notes, and other content you submit. You grant Sage a nonexclusive license to host, store, process, and display that content only as needed to provide the service to you, including through service providers.

You are responsible for having the rights or permissions needed to submit and use content. Importing a recipe does not transfer ownership of another person’s photographs, writing, or other protected material, or grant permission to republish it. Respect source websites’ terms and access restrictions.

When you delete content or close your account, removal is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. The license above does not give Sage permission to sell your content or use it in unrelated advertising.

5. Sage’s content and branding

Sage’s branding, website design, software, and other materials provided by us are owned by Andrew Wilkerson or the relevant licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership of those materials to you. You may not reproduce or commercially distribute them without permission, except where applicable law allows it. This section does not claim ownership of your submitted content or third-party recipe material.

6. AI and recipe accuracy

Recipe parsing and AI features can misread quantities, omit ingredients, infer incorrect steps, or generate unsuitable suggestions. Review imported and generated recipes before cooking, especially ingredient amounts, substitutions, allergens, and preparation steps.

Cooking times, serving sizes, nutrition estimates, health scores, and preparation guidance are informational. We do not guarantee that they are accurate, complete, or appropriate for your circumstances.

7. Food safety and dietary needs

Use your judgment and reliable food-safety guidance when handling, storing, and preparing food. Independently check ingredients, product labels, allergens, substitutions, and safe cooking temperatures.

Sage does not provide medical advice or replace advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Do not rely on Sage to identify every allergen or determine whether a meal is safe for a particular health condition.

8. Payments and subscriptions

Sage currently does not process payments or manage subscriptions, and this website does not offer checkout.

If paid features are introduced, we will provide prices, billing frequency, any renewal terms, cancellation instructions, refund terms, and applicable payment or app-store conditions before you purchase. These terms do not authorize a charge or subscription.

9. Third-party services and privacy

Sign-in providers, recipe sources, linked websites, and other integrations may have their own terms and privacy practices. Sage does not control third-party services or guarantee their availability or content.

Our Privacy Policy describes the providers Sage uses and how personal information is handled.

10. Service changes and account closure

Features may change as Sage develops. We may update, temporarily interrupt, or discontinue features, with notice where required by law. Preview and early-access features may be incomplete and may change.

We may suspend or terminate access for material violations of these terms, misuse, security risks, or legal requirements. Where appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to address the issue; urgent security or legal circumstances may require immediate action.

You may stop using Sage at any time. You can request account deletion in account settings or by contacting cooksagesupport@gmail.com. Account closure, stored content, and provider retention are addressed in our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers and your legal rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Sage is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or any particular cooking, nutrition, or meal-planning outcome.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits consumer rights, warranties, remedies, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your mandatory legal protections continue to apply.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Mandatory consumer protections that apply to you remain in effect.

If a concern arises, you can contact cooksagesupport@gmail.com so we can try to resolve it. Contacting us is not a prerequisite to exercising your legal rights. These terms do not require arbitration or waive your right to bring a claim in a court with jurisdiction.

13. Changes and contact

We may revise these terms as the service changes. We will update the date on this page, state when changes take effect, and provide notice of material changes where required by law. If you do not agree to updated terms, stop using the service before they take effect. Changes do not remove rights that applicable law protects.
